I'm just back from 3 weeks holiday in New Zealand. It's a fantastic place; wild, beautiful and completely covered in ferns. I've never see so many ferns in my life, they're everywhere.
Myself and Louise tramped (NZ word for hiked) across the Routeburn Track, one of the "Great Walks". We kayaked around Doubted Sound, socialising with the local pod of dolphins. We trundled about the country in a brightly painted campervan.
I would highly recommend New Zealand. Not just for the amazing scenery, the plethora of adventure activities, or the delicious food and wine. The New Zealanders are a warm and friendly people, and they hold their country and especially their environment in very high regard.
